A Fresh and Modern Bridal Bouquet at Willow Ballroom
This past June, I had the pleasure of designing the bridal bouquet for an unforgettable wedding at the Willow Ballroom in Sacramento. The bride, Claire, and her husband, Ben, first met during their freshman year at the University of Nevada, Reno, and after nine years together, they finally said "I do" in a beautifully down-to-earth yet elevated celebration. When Claire was planning the wedding, she knew she wanted gorgeous flowers to complement the stunning venue, and I was honored to create a fresh, modern bouquet to match her vision.
For Claire’s bouquet, I chose a blend of white Playa Blanca roses, lisianthus, tall Larkspur, Campanella roses, stock, calla lilies, ranunculus, and a subtle touch of tweedia. She wanted an all-white arrangement, with a clean and sophisticated look. One of the most touching moments of the day was when her sister-in-law, who was also one of the bridesmaids, gifted her the bouquet, which made it even more special. As Claire shared, "Now, every time I look at my wedding photos, they are just that much more special, having the perfect bouquet to hold and complement the entire look."
The wedding itself was full of personal touches. Claire and Ben wanted to keep things relaxed yet elevated, with a taco bar and margaritas for their guests. The Willow Ballroom, with its industrial vibe, exposed brick, and river views, was the perfect backdrop for their day. The couple’s decision to work with the venue’s owner, Angelica, who they knew personally, made the entire experience even more meaningful.
It was a joy to see how the florals, including the bridesmaids’ bouquets, added to the beauty of the day and how it all came together to match the love and excitement of Claire and Ben’s journey. After a minimoon in Glacier National Park, the couple is now preparing for their honeymoon to Japan, and I couldn’t be happier for them as they embark on this new chapter together.
